What do you want to tell people?
Who are you tellling (your audience)?
Where will a sign be placed? Is a sign the best choice, or are there other options, like a brochure?
Indoors? Outdoors?
How long do you expect the sign to be there? Different types of panels have varying longevity.
Who is the most knowledgable person that you know who can help with writing, editing, and other materials? Do you have graphics and text already gathered?
How many signs will be needed?
Is your project funded?
Will the sign be placed in an area with a higher than average vandalism risk?

Good quality interpretive signs cost money. The design, images, panel, framing system and shipping are costs that must be addressed.
