Pricing

Usually I work with a project-based rate rather than a per hour rate. It depends on the scope of the project. Because the hours required to complete the project can vary so much, it is impossible to state a price. The range, for exampe, for an interpretive sign can be from about $500 to $7000. It depends on the size, the complexity of the design, the frame/kiosk and the material that the type of sign (fiberglass embedment, hpl, porcelain enamel, etc.)

If the work is more suited to an hourly rate, such as websites that require sporadic work, I charge $30/hour. You will receive excellent quality and passionate attention to your project from a designer with more than 25 years experience. The experience is important. I must emphasize this. You can hire someone at a local design shop, but there are many things that go into interpretive signs beyond just an attractive layout. This is also true for web design and maintenance.

I am also available as a consultant, like for helping gather costs when applying for grants. My minimum fee for consulting is $150 which I will wave if I am chosen to do the design.
